This is how it all started
UTP was born!
Although Chad first started doing posters in 2006, it took many failures to arrive at UTP and many many sacrifices. In the beginning, we chose camp sites over hotels to save money. Without those early sacrifices, UTP wouldn’t be the company it is today. And as you can see, we’ve been innovative since day 1! 🙂
Don't all great stories start in a garage?
As with most great companies today, ours was no different… Our design team started out with 1 person at an event, then 30 in a garage, then over 60 designers in 3 countries, to today, where we have a hybrid mixed with proprietary software and designers in 3 countries.
Our first run at manufacturing.
Building our own framing manufacturing facility ended up reminding us that we are expects at “Posters” and not “Building Frames”. However, this failure taught us to be much better consumers. It was the foundation of our global supply chain that is the reason for all of our success today.
A National Powerhouse
In 2019 UTP attended well over 1000 events in 40 states. This level of scale has taken the sacrifice of hundreds of people over the years and we are forever grateful for each and every person who helped us get to where we are today. A great company learns from its customers and team members. We are the result of thousands of ideas, compliments, criticisms, and relentless effort over the last 7 years.
A "Covid" year
Our business was fortunate enough to be mobile and versatile to quickly adapt to the new world that 2020 brought us. Throughout the first part of 2020 it was difficult to see the blessing it would bring us by the end of the year. However, our new normal has created a ton of opportunity for new expansion and replacing existing infrastructure. We look forward to a fun and exciting new beginning!
If you’d like to learn more about how we got to now, Chad published “The Poster Boy” as a part bio, part how to get started in business! It received the highest possible award by Indie Readers and was featured as a “Best Read” in September 2020.
